Akira Sakata (Sax, Clarinet,vo)
Born in Kure-city, Hiroshima in 1945. Studied marine biology at Hiroshima university. Formed a group Saibo-bunretsu (Cell fission) in Tokyo in 1969, Sakata's long lasting music quest has begun.
In 1972, he has Joined Yamashita Yosuke Trio. The trio performed at many jazz festivals including Maers New Jazz Festival, Berlin Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival and Newport Jazz Festival.etc.
In 1980 he formed "Wha ha ha" and his own trio "Sakata Torio". The following year, "Sakata Trio" toured throughout Europe. In November 1881, Sakata appeared in Berlin Jazz Festival with newly formed "Sakata Orchestra", which was extremely well received.
In the beginning of 1982, he formed another group "Sakata-Sextet", since then, he embarks on his experimental adventure, repeated assemble and disassemble of groups in several formats. To name a few, "Sakata Akira & his Da-Da-Da Orchestra", "MITOCHONDRIA" and "HARPACTICOIDA".
In 1996, he carried out a tour to Central Asia with "Flying Mijinko Band", a collaborative project with Bill Laswell .
He currently performs actively in various sessions focusing on his "Sakata Akira trio" Sakata Akira &Chikamorachi", and some collaborative session works with Jim O'Rourke.
In 2004, started own production label "Daphnia", released self-produced album "Dodeshou?" (means "how is it?") and started to work with Jim O'Rourke in various projects.
In 2007, acceded to a visiting professor of Tokyo University of Pharmacy and Life Sciences.
He released new CD "Friendly Pants" by "Chikamorachi" In 2008, He made a Japan tour with Jim O'Rourke, Darin Gray and Chris Corsano.
In 2009, He performed with "Chikamorachi" in Parspctives 2009 in Vasteras Sweden.Also He played at Umbrella music feastival in Chicago with "Chikamorachi" and made a spcial session with Jaff Parker, Nathan McBride and John Herndon.
In 2010, He released his trio's CD "Chotto" English title is "I'm Here" from Daphnia lebel.
In 2011, He made a Tokyo,Moskow,Europe,Tokyo tour with Akira Sakata & Chikamorachi.
He asppeard in Music Unlimited 25, Wels Austria curated by Peter Brotzman.

Bassist Darin Gray has been a constant in the underground and sub- underground musical community since the 80's. In the early 90's he rose to prominence in St. Louis' hardcore-jazz Dazzling Killmen, Gray has since hightened his notoriety as an improviser on acoustic and electric bass. Outside of his working rock trio Grand Ulena, On Fillmore (a duo with percussionist Glenn Kotche of Wilco) he has continued relations with the likes of Alan Licht, Tim Barnes, Jim O'Rourke, Loren MazzaCane Connors, and others. His was also a member of Brise-Glace, Yona Kit, and You Fantastic! He has recorded with Bobby Conn, Kevin Drumm, Rope, O'Rourke, Will Oldham, KK Null, Bunnygrunt, Cheer-Accident and many others.

Chris Corsano(drums)Profile
Chris Corsano originally began drumming in New England, USA. He has often performed with Paul Flaherty, Jandek, Kim Gordon, Thurston Moore, Loren Mazzacane, and Jim O'Rourke, as well releasing several solo recordings.
More recently, he has been touring with Bj?rk, and was featured on her most recent studio album "Volta".
